KARI: TK, let’s go! We’re going to be late!
TK: I just want to finish this chapter. Why don’t you go ahead and I’ll follow shortly.
KARI: All right.
KENJI: I’ll stay with dad to make sure he comes soon.
PATAMON: Me, too!
KARI: Okay. Make sure he doesn’t take too long.
[Fifteen minutes later.]
TK: Oikawa transformed himself into energy and used his life force to revitalize the Digital World. He restored all the beauty that was almost completely destroyed by MaloMyotismon. And Oikawa’s spirit is still there protecting the Digital World forever...
KENJI: Hey, dad! Come on already! We have to go!
TK: Right. We don’t want to be late. Fifteen years have past and I’ve become a novelist. I’m working on a series of books on our adventures in the Digital World. They’ve been a lot of big changes in the world, and us, since then...
TK: Don’t worry. We’ll get there on time.
KENJI: I can’t wait to see everyone!
TK: Me, too.
[Ten minutes later.]
TK: Here we are.
HIROKI: Hey, everybody! Look! It’s TK! And Kenji!
KENJI: Hey!
TK: Hello!
TAI: TK, how are you?
TK: Good I’ve almost finished the last chapter if you want to read it and check it.
TAI: Thanks. I’ve got to make sure you gave me my shining moments.
KARI: Tai! Stop pestering TK! The books aren’t only about you.
TAI: C’mon, Kari. I was just kidding. Sort of.
TK: Now everyone on the planet knows about the Digital World and has their own partner Digimon. But, despite all the changes contact with the Digital World has brought, one thing has remained the same. Our friendship! We all still get together and those gatherings are some of the happiest times of me life!
KARI: Tai, stop treating me like a kid. You know I have two of my own.
TAI: Yes, but you’ll always be my baby sister.
KARI: Tai!
[Agumon and Tai shown wearing suits.]
TK: Tai and Agumon are diplomats dealing with relations between the Real and Digital Worlds. And Tai finally cut his hair.
[Agumon, Tai, and Hiroki, holding Koromon.]
AGUMON: Hey, you wanna play tag?
HIROKI: Yeah!
KOROMON: Wait for me.
KENJI: I wanna play, too!
RYUJI: Can we play?
HIROKI: Hey, Ryuji! Kyo! Of course you can!
[Matt and Gabumon shown standing on Mars.]
TK: Matt and Gabumon became an astronaut team and made it all the way to Mars. Even though they were only supposed to go to the moon.
[Matt, Gabumon, Sora, Biyomon, Ryuji, his Tsunomon, and Kyo with his Yokomon.]
MATT: Now be careful, son.
RYUJI: Aw! How come?
KYO: I’ll take care of him!
BIYOMON: Okay! and I’ll take care of you!
RYUJI: All right, let’s go!
KYO: Right behind you!
[Sora and Biyomon shown in front of a fashion store.]
TK: Sora and Biyomon are fashion designers. Biyomon says their new line is to die for!
[Joe, Gomamon, Shin, and Bukamon.]
JOE: Try to stay clean.
GOMAMON: Nah! Go roll in the mud!
JOE: Hey, who’s the father here?
GOMAMON: You are, Joe. I’m here to make sure your son doesn’t turn into you at that age. A worry-wart.
JOE: I was not a worry-wart.
GOMAMON: Were too!
JOE: Were not!
GOMAMON: Were too! Even now you still need me around to loosen you up.
SHIN: *giggle*
[Joe shown bandaging Ogremon’s arm.]
TK: Joe’s the Digital World’s first doctor. Too bad his patients keep eating his tongue depressors.
KYO: C’mon, let’s play!
SHIN: Coming!
JOE: Be careful!
GOMAMON: *whisper* Worry-wart.
JOE: What was that?!
GOMAMON: What? What was what?
[Mimi, Palmon, and Keiichi holding Tanemon.]
MIMI: Now remember to share with the other kids.
KEIICHI: Right!
MIMI: And have lots of fun!
PALMON: Mmm-hmm!
KEIICHI: You bet!
HIROKI: Tag! You’re it!
KEIICHI: Hey! I’m gonna get you!
[Mimi and Palmon shown on their cooking show.]
TK: Mimi’s cooking show is the only time she takes off her hat.
IZZY: Make sure you don’t act like a ramcat.
[Izzy and Tentomon shown working on a computer.]
TK: Izzy researches the Digital World. He and his daughter have their own language.
[Kari, Gatomon, Ichiro, and a leaping Salamon.]
KARI: Ready to have fun?
YOLEI: Now, whatever happens, don’t get all panicky, okay?
[Ken and Stingmon shown running/flying, the Yolei shown changing the baby and Hawkmon carrying some cloth diapers.]
TK: Ken and Yolei are married, with children, and Ken and Stingmon are detectives. But Yolei says he can’t seem to detect when it’s his turn to do the dishes.
[Cody, Armadillomon, Ayaka, and Upamon.]
AYAKA: Hey, dad! Can I sue if I get tagged?
[Cody shown in a courtroom.]
TK: Cody’s a defense attorney. He’s bought one hundred briefcases ‘cause Armadillomon keeps sitting on them.
[Davis, Veemon, Hideki, and DemiVeemon arrive.]
DAVIS: Hey, everybody! Sorry we’re late!
[Davis shown pulling his noodle cart while Veemon pushes it.]
TK: Well, Davis finally opened his noodle cart, and believe it or not, it became a huge success. There’s now ‘Noodle, Noodle, Come Get Your Noodle!’ carts all over the world!
[All the kids, minus the baby, start running across the field.]
SORA: Should we set up the picnic area?
MOTIMON: Right!
YUKIE: Or a zoomchip!
KARI: *whisper* Have any idea what they’re saying?
TK: *whisper* None, whatsoever.
ICHIRO: Mmm-hmm.
KENJI: Let’s go.
ICHIRO: Okay!
TK: Kari’s a teacher. She actually likes being at school. *puts his arm around her*
KARI: What?
TK: Nothing.
KARI: Mmm. *leans her head on his shoulder*
YOSHIYA: But, mom, that’s what you always do!
ALL: *laugh*
KEN: Just let them have fun.
YOLEI: I am!
CODY: No, I’m afraid not.
ICHIRO: Tag, you’re it!
AYAKA: Hey, when I catch you I’m gonna sue anyway!
ARMADILLOMON: *chuckle*
TAI: Davis, glad you could finally make it!
DAVIS: Yeah, well, the traffic was heavy.
MIMI: Traffic, at this time of day?
DAVIS: Yeah, pretty weird, huh?
VEEMON: Why don’t you just tell them you were late because you kept fixing your hair in the mirror.
DAVIS: Aw, Veemon. I was trying to avoid that.
DAVIS: What are you doing here, standing with your dad? Go play tag!
VEEMON: Yeah! Go show ‘em what tag is all about!
HIDEKI: All right!
DEMIVEEMON: Yeah!
HIDEKI: So are you guys ready? Come on everybody! Let’s do it!
DAVIS: *sigh* A little leader in training.
TAI: What do you mean ‘leader’?! My kid’s the leader!
PATAMON: Looks like some things never change.
GATOMON: Yep.
KARI: Okay. We brought mocchi and dora-yaki.
MIMI: I made takoyaki and different kinds of sushi.
SORA: Shrimp fried rice.
YOLEI: Wasabi peas and sticky white rice.
TAI: Onigiri.
IZZY: Yakitori.
CODY: Sashimi.
DAVIS: Bet you can’t guess what I brought.
ALL: Noodles!
DAVIS: How’d you guess?
YOLEI: Maybe because you own and run a noodle cart.
ALL: *laugh*
TK: So, you can see we’re still having adventures. They’re just a little different than the ones we used to have when we were kids. The darkness has not been conquered and it will continue to fight against the light forever. But as long as people remember to follow their dreams, evil will be kept at bay. And on days like today, it’s hard to see any darkness anywhere. Now it’s up to our children, and to children everywhere, to follow their dreams. Who knows where they’ll end up... But the only way to find out is to take the first step into adventure!
